. . . I got busy.
I wrote a ten page research essay, a six page interpretive close-reading essay, and a one page opinion / video response essay.
In one week.
Like a boss.
And does it count towards my NaNoWriMo word count?
Nope.
Even if it did, I wouldn't be halfway there anyways.
What have I learned about this year's NaNoWriMo?
1) Plan out your story ahead of time.
- Definitely useful to at least have a general idea of where you want to go with the story, although that doesn't completely get rid of writer's block, but it does help.
2) At least attempt to write something every day.
- Yeah, even if it's only a sentence or two, it's still something.
3) Don't have a life.
- Or a job. Or classes. They just really get in the way.
So, um, yeah.
Final word count?
I have NO IDEA.
A little less than 3,000 for sure though.
Oh well.
I tried.
We are authors. Our medium is ink, lead, and pixels. We craft lives. We build cities. We weave tales. Our superpower is words.
Welcome!
This blog is for all writers, published or not, that want to connect with other writers and who want to improve their craft.

NaNoWriMo: Days 7-10 - I hit 2K!
I know I'm deplorably behind, but I'm doing well in my classes, which is the main thing.
And . . .
I hit 2,000 words!
Yay!
Current Word Count: 2,151
(Also, I found a theme for my hero. Does my hero need a theme? . . . How dare you ask; of course he does! Why? Because he's awesome!)

NaNoWriMo: Day 6 - Are you sure nothing else counts?
You still are?
Shoot.
Nothing much to report, I'm just running on empty.
Blah.
Carry on, as you were, etc.

NaNoWriMo: Days 3-5 - Does school work count?
Due to the troublesome concept of 'sleep', I have neglected to update this for two days.
My apologies.
On the bright side, I've almost reached 1K words.
Almost.
I have only 1 question:
Does school work, text messages, emails, and IMs count towards the word count?
. . . No?
Blast.
Current Word Count: 941

NaNoWriMo: Day 2 - Doubling
So, I've found that I write faster and inspiration comes easier when I have a pen in my hands . . . Which is awful because I can't find an app for my iPad that has decent hand-writing to text features for a decent price. Ahh, the horrors of our modern world!

NaNoWriMo: Day 1 - Oh, Dear . . .
So, because of a nearly twelve-hour school day, I didn't get to write much of my story. I know I didn't reach my 1,667 word goal for today. I think at last count my total was a little more than 200.
Ugh.
Curse you, college.
Of course, I'm hoping that there will be days when inspiration will just slap me upside the face and I'll be able to knock out about 3-4k words . . .
Eh, who do I think I'm kidding?
My real goal this year - since it's my first year officially participating in NaNoWriMo - is really only 10,000 words. With my schedule and workload, I'll be very happy if I reach it.
It can only be up from here, right?
